Wrapping up October
October has passed swiftly, just like every other month and we are already reaching the end of Year 2013!
The month of October has been pretty eventful for Visitor Experience Services department as we had so many events held in the month. We kick-started the month with a service initiative – Service Star, had our twice-a-month Coffee Connection, our weekly staff engagement activities, met up with our first Staff Engagement Workgroup for the first time. And not to forget, we set our hearts & minds to plan for an exciting December!
We shall recap the moments with the photos we captured during the various events.
Service Stars
We rolled out a service initiative for the staff to earn stars for practicing the Care, Empathy & Professional (CEP) standards of the Apple Philosophy. For every standard they display, the executives will award one star to them, which they can paste it in their service card.
Coffee Connection
We did a closure to the Peer Encouragement Program, which ended in September, and Vicky emerged as the overall receiver for the program, which was spread over a period of 2 months! She walked away with a gift set from Body Shop. Para, Wong and Doris were also awarded with vouchers as a token of appreciation for their active participation as well.
A mug was given to those staff who have accumulated 15 stars in the Service Star Initiative, to motivate them to move towards completing their card. Inspirational Clips This month we showed staff 2 video clips, and set them to think and share what service meant to them. They also shared on their memorable experience at work, reminiscing the good and/or bad moments they encountered. With the two videos: “Johnny the Bagger” and “Pay it forward”, we aimed to bring across key takeaways like: Service comes from the heart, the visitors will definitely feel our sincerity when we serve them from our heart. Kindness is the little acts or things we can do to make a difference and it will make someone’s day. First Staff Engagement Workgroup Meeting We met up for the first time on 29 October 2013 with the nominated staffs. We got closer after playing the hula-hoop and shared on the roles and responsibilities of us all. We discussed about the upcoming events planned in December – our first department retreat and the annual year-end appreciation party. Look forward to an interesting, cultural November!
