Zooming towards the end of November

Even though it’s coming to the end of the year, there is always a start to everything! This month, we are kicking start the department’s very first cultural month where the cultures of different ethnic groups come together to share Our very four very own colleagues Vicky and Nazeera brought some of us through the myths, festivals and ceremonies celebrated by the Indian community in Singapore.

Besides learning through the presentation, we also got to do some hands-on activities such as drawing hennas on each other and making Rangoli (designs made of multi-coloured powdered rice). It was so much fun!

Next, it was time to try on the traditional Sari! Kudos to Janice for being such a good sport! Here was Vicky trying to demonstrate the method of putting on part of the Sari. You ladies look great! =)

And there marks the end of our very first Cultural sharing session. Stay tuned for the next few coming your way soon!
