Our 170th Founder's Day
This year, we celebrate 170 years of caring.
Because of JCI in July, the founder's day celebration was postponed to October. Held at Raffles Convention Centre, the warriors dressed up as babas & nonyas to celebrate this day together! There were many props and displays at the exhibition hall just outside the dinner ballroom, and we had fun taking fun shots during and after the dinner.
Din & Uncle Wong having much fun pretending to ferry the ladies.
The warriors!
We joked and started to reenact some scenes from the Little Nonya drama
JC was also nominated to be in the welcome entourage where they ushered our Guest of Honour, President Tony Tan and his wife into the venue. They also had some performances to keep us entertained in the midst of the dinner.
Dinner was authentic Peranankan food and they were awesome!
Shall let the photos do the talking!
You can visit here for the shots we took and here for those taken by our professional photographer, Henry (from Corp Comms)! His shots are superb and very pretty! ^^

VES warriors embarks on an Improvement project
It has been a month since we embarked on this MyCare Improvement Project. The team led by Kylie & Woei Ling, consist of 10 members from different departments under our own division - Hospitality & Environmental Services Division. In this project, we have members from VES, Security department as well as the General Support Services department.
From our side, we have: Aisah, Famieza, Ivan, Shelley, Teresa & Thibah, being involved in this project. With this, we hope to look into the flow and pattern of wheelchair and improve the current problem of wheelchairs being not available upon patient's or NOK's requests.
The team met up for the first time in the last week of August and we have since been trying to meet regular, at least once a week! So far we are at the planning stage, where the team members is still trying to get to know each other, setting expectations amongst the team, and also to understand the problem/situation better.
The team had just done a Go & See today, where they shadowing patients around to collect data, and also to shadow the porters who walk around the whole hospital premises to search for the abandoned wheelchairs. It's been a tiring day for them, but we do hope they enjoyed the experience while doing the go & see. Imagine yourself walking from 8.30am till 5pm non stop (aside from the break)... ^^
As the majority of the team comes from our department, we would also want to thank everyone (be it the team members or not) for your support and understanding when they have to step away from their deployment to go for meetings and/or data collection. Without your (the non-team members) support, we wouldn't be able to bring them out to settle the data collection which usually take more than just a day. Also, as the project team involves other departments, it wouldn't be easy to reach a good date where majority are able to meet up for the regular meetings. Therefore, many a times, sacrifices have to be made... Hence, once again, a shoutout to all of you guys: THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT AND YOUR KIND UNDERSTANDING! :))))
You can check out the photos in here! We will upload photos as and when about the meetings.. (:

September Babies
17th Sept, we celebrated for the September Babies!
Team 4 and the PIAs joined us in this small celebration for our Sept babies - Betsy & Vicky! We were missing another birthday star - Raja, who wasn't able to join us.
Despite a short chillax session, they are still able to have fun. Check out the shots Vicky took with fellow colleagues, and an unexpected gift from Din to Vicky!
With her best partner, Ivan!
With Ganaysan...
Check out what Din gave Vicky as a present!
Many happy returns of the day for you both once again! :D

Team 3 goes Cycling~
A day when all our schedule matches comes by rarely. But when it does,
we take full use of it to have a fun activity together. On Sunday, 31 August,
past and present staff of Team 3 met up to spend a cool afternoon cycling along
East Coast and caught up with each other outside of work. We couldn’t have had more
fun taking scenic pictures and teasing each other while sharing snacks. It also pleases us that, unlike the usual
“makan” only sessions, performing a healthy activity carries more benefits. Of
which, it was decided that more of such simple physical activities will be
arranged every quarter for Team 3 to bond and have a great time at it! We can
hardly wait!!!

Glorious August
In the month of August, our nation's birthday month, we had tea sessions. It seems like our department loves eating ya? XD
The staff gets to catch up with Evonne & Xunwu, finding out updates etc from them and they too share about some challenges they face on grounds. As the sessions are usually too short for them to warm up to each other, the tea sessions will be extended to September too! More details will be shared when the tea sessions come to an end.
Here are some shots we managed to take before we leave them to their chitchat sessions. :)
Not to forget, our only August Birthday Star: Para! Had a mini celebration together with her team and fellow teammates at the pantry! :D
Till next time!

a mid break in August
We had a BBQ session after sooooooo long! A break in mid August, after 2 busy weeks of JCI & retail fair!
Through this BBQ, we hope to let the warriors take a short break and eat nice BBQ-ed food, cooked by our AM, Xun wu! The past few weeks have been tough on them, having to work overtime to help out their fellow colleagues when the team is very lean now. In appreciation to their efforts, we organised this BBQ session for bonding and to have good food!
The weather was bad in the morning and we were worried if the BBQ could still go on. Thankfully, the sky was clear since afternoon and we started to prepare for BBQ.
Xun wu was the chef for the night, cooking for everyone with all that we have bought! Hope everyone enjoyed, especially the PM shift who only could join us for that 1 hour break. But from the look of their happy faces and the amount of food we got, I bet they enjoyed it! (;
Here's the proof that they enjoyed it! Thanks to Team 3 for the thankyou note on the Grandfather's Wall for the BBQ session. :D
You could check out the photos here!
